Monday afternoon, February 16, the Book Group will meet at the home of Dani Stonelake, 19281 Edwin Markham Drive, Castro Valley, from 2p-4p.
Local educator, Dr. Nels Nelson will review his book Blockade, an account of his uncle, Captain Danielson of the Norwegian navy who played a major role in a little-remembered battle between Norway and France in 1883-1885 over Formosa (now Taiwan). Dr. Nelson will be introduced by Genie Nelson. Copies of his book will be available for purchase.
If you are new to the group or are a regular member who cannot come to the meeting, please call Dani at 881-4460. This courtesy to our hostess allows her to plan the refreshments and seating accordingly. Thanks for your cooperation.
If you have questions or need directions, call Dani or email her at dstonelake@gmail.com.
Looking ahead to March, our meeting will be at the home of Dee Donaldson on Monday afternoon, March 16. This will be our second group read of the year, Mona Golabek’s moving biography of her mother, The Children of Willesden Lane. Dani Stonelake will facilitate our discussion.
Hope to see you at these outstanding afternoons of friends, conversations and books.
