Book Review
This is the final Book Group meeting of the AAUW year at the Hayward home of Olive Riley-Steward, 32174 Bernice Way.
The group will read, Ann Patchett’s 2011 best-selling novel, State of Wonder. A provocative, ambitious and thrilling novel set deep in the Brazilian Amazon jungle, the reader is swept into a research scientist’s search for the reason for a colleague’s death and for the disappearance of her former mentor, a renownd biologist who has been seeking a valuable new drug. The novel promises a challenging and rewarding discussion. Ruth Rymer will facilitate the discussion.
Refreshments will be served. If you have questions or need directions, call Olive at 471-3332.
As this is the last meeting of the year, we will have a sign-up for next year’s programs and hostesses. Please bring your recommendations for the group reads or sign up to review a favorite book.
The first meeting of the new year will be on September 16th.
All branch members are invited to join us for an afternoon of books, tasty refreshments, good friends, and an invigorating discussion.
