The title of the play is 9 Parts of Desire. The title originates from Ali that “God created sexual desire in ten parts; then he gave nine parts to women and one to men”. When done originally, the woman who wrote it played all the parts herself. We will change readers with each new person as she is presented. It is a portrait of the extraordinary lives of a whole cross-section of Iraqi  women; a sexy painter, a radical communist, doctors, exiles, wives and lovers.It is an unusually timely meditation on the ancient the modern and the feminine in a country overshadowed by war.
