The students will be having a drive to get their students and faculty registered to vote by having a special event on campus. They will have all sorts of groups represented with tables and we are looking for some of our members who would be willing to go to the campus and be there to represent AAUW and help register people to vote. Their plans are to do it electronically using the Secretary of State’s website. How this works is new to me, but it should streamline the process not having to use the long paper application. I have recommended that they get the email of the people that they register so that they can be contacted about the June and November elections as they approach. AAUW research has found that the success of getting new voters to the poles really depends on their being reminded of the date and place where they need to vote more than once.
